Pioneer Trail is a new game from Facebook that updates and replaces the popular FrontierVille game. The premise behind Pioneer Trail is that you need to head out on the Pioneer Trail and explore the Wild West while searching for the 9-year old son of Phineas and Flora Cobb. Kidnapping has been suspected, and your mission is to go out and investigate, and hopefully return young Ezekiel Cobb safe and sound to his loving parents. You’ll still be able to maintain your homestead, but most of the new action and adventure in the game happens out on the trail.

Pioneer Trail Map

The map for Pioneer Trail

The game starts with a map showing you leaving your homestead for the first stop on the trail. You’ll arrive at Beaver Valley, where you’ll get a series of missions that you must complete before you can move onto the next zone. The full list of zones on the map are, Beaver Valley, High Plains, Avalanche Pass, and Fort Courage.

Pioneer Trail - Hire Carpenter

Hiring workers to help is not cheap!

Almost immediately, you’ll discover that you can’t progress very far in the game without either recruiting your friends or spending some cash. The very first mission, called Shovel Trouble Hurts Your Travel requires you to use your carpenter to scavenge a toolbox and clear three plains grass. The trick is that you need to hire or recruit a carpenter into your group. This is done by either inviting friends or hiring a carpenter from the game, which costs 99 horseshoes!

Once you have a carpenter hired, you can progress with the mission. Activate your carpenter from the friends bar at the bottom and then grab the toolbox and clear the grass.

FrontierVille, like any other games, has game elements that are needed to be familiarized in order to be successful in the game. Most of the techniques to level up quickly in FrontierVille are found behind these elements and if you figure them out, you will surely be celebrating of the benefits they offer. Get to know them so that you’ll have thorough knowledge and good understanding about the entirety of FrontierVille because you will be dealing with them from time to time.

  1. Neighbors – They are your friends in the game. No Pioneer is an island because you can never progress through the game without the presence of neighbors or your friends. Neighbors bring a lot of benefits to you, and so are you to them. You help each other to finish goals so you need to be extra friendly. What’s great about them is that they can be hired to do some of your works in your homestead. You can also earn energy, coins, extra food, wood, and collectibles by simply visiting them everyday. They can also give you special gifts through sending free gifts.
  2. Goals – These are your missions in FrontierVille. What’s great about the game is that the goals follow a storyline. If you accomplish your goals just in time, you will surely level up quickly. Achieved goals give you awesome rewards like extra coins, food, wood, special items, and of course experience points. It is great to stay goal-oriented so you can follow the storyline and you won’t get stuck up in a level because of failing a goal.
  3. Crops – Like in FarmVille, FrontierVille also features farming. This is considered as the best way of earning lots of coins immediately and leveling up faster. You purchase crops in the market, plant them in an area in your homestead, and harvest them in time. Crops have different growth time so you need to be properly guided with this because if you fail to harvest them during their harvest time, they will get withered. Once they get withered, you can never earn from them and they end up being wasted.
  4. Trees – Trees can be used as decorations in some other Facebook games but not in FrontierVille. There are two types of trees found in the game and they both have important uses. The first type is the Fruit Trees which come in different kinds. They are purchased in the market as seeds and you need to plant them in your homestead to. They need to be watered in order to reach their full maturity and harvest fruits from them. Unlike crops, trees don’t get withered. Once they yield ripe fruits, they can be harvested anytime and you get lots of food from them plus extra coins and other item drops. The second one is the Lumber Trees – Pine Tree and Oak Tree. They grow naturally in your homestead. Once they don’t get chopped down, they summon baby trees and can cover a wide area in your homestead. What’s great about them is that they are a great source of wood. You earn wood by chopping them down. Wood is a very important requirement in constructing buildings.
  5. Animals – FrontierVille also features ranching. Yes, you’ve read it right. You purchase baby animals in the market and raise them in your homestead. Once they are fully grown, you can sell them to earn big profits. They need to be fed in order to grow.
  6. Buildings – FrontierVille buildings are no decorations only. You will construct them so it’s fun, isn’t it? Plus they also have different uses. Buildings in the game have unique crafting workbenches, except the Schoolhouse, that are used to craft items. You can buy them in the market but what you buy in the market is the framework of the building only. You need to whack the framework in the homestead, plus you should have the construction materials in order to finish the building. You get daily bonuses from them too.
  7. Collections – Everything in FrontierVille comes with their own collection and whatever you do in your homestead, you can always receive a collection item through item drops. Once a collection is completed, you will then receive special rewards like experience, energy, coins, free stuffs and even instant boost in harvesting crops, chickens, and trees.

Frontierville: Outline of the Game

Farming in Frontierville

Keeping your small settlement going on the frontier is a lot of work.

FrontierVille is the fastest growing free game on the Facebook website. It is another game title from Zynga, the creator of the popular Farmville. Since its release in June of 2010, Frontierville has attracted millions of players.

FrontierVille is no ordinary Facebook game. FrontierVille requires its “pioneer”, that is you, to be diligent and successful in all the missions you must undertake in the game. As one of its pioneers, I discovered lots of ways to move to higher levels quickly without the use of dirty tactics or cheat programs. Here is a general outline of the game.

Getting Started

FrontierVille offers you an experience of taming the wilderness. Your first step is, of course, to create your character, something like the little virtual version of yourself. You will control that character throughout the game.

Your character is called a Pioneer. In order to be successful in the game, you must complete all the goals and create a family of your own, a virtual home and farm.

Just like any of the Zynga game titles, the game officially starts with a tutorial so it won’t be that hard for you as get started. Your instructor will be Frontier Jack and he will instruct you and inform you as well all the necessary information you need to know as a starter.

Must-Know Points

You must realize that every action in FrontierVille requires 1 energy unit and that is just so limiting. So as a game starter aiming to level up quickly, you need to follow the complete the starting goals first before you go on tweaking your home and land.

If you finish the goals quickly, you will be able to receive rewards of experience points and coins; even food and wood which are very necessary in playing the game. Working hard in FrontierVille is somewhat necessary, but it has a price since you will keep earning items from item drops like food, coins, wood, experience, and even some collection items. You can also buy other items to decorate your Frontier using the things found in the market.

Neighbors are also very important in the game because they can help you level up quickly because they can be hired to do your work for you, or they can help you whenever you ask for some little help. Friends are always there in FrontierVille.

If you already have heard about the game, or perhaps noticed one of your friends playing it already, then grab your desktop now and get into the game.
