Pioneer Trail is a new game from Facebook that updates and replaces the popular FrontierVille game. The premise behind Pioneer Trail is that you need to head out on the Pioneer Trail and explore the Wild West while searching for the 9-year old son of Phineas and Flora Cobb. Kidnapping has been suspected, and your mission is to go out and investigate, and hopefully return young Ezekiel Cobb safe and sound to his loving parents. You’ll still be able to maintain your homestead, but most of the new action and adventure in the game happens out on the trail.
The game starts with a map showing you leaving your homestead for the first stop on the trail. You’ll arrive at Beaver Valley, where you’ll get a series of missions that you must complete before you can move onto the next zone. The full list of zones on the map are, Beaver Valley, High Plains, Avalanche Pass, and Fort Courage.
Almost immediately, you’ll discover that you can’t progress very far in the game without either recruiting your friends or spending some cash. The very first mission, called Shovel Trouble Hurts Your Travel requires you to use your carpenter to scavenge a toolbox and clear three plains grass. The trick is that you need to hire or recruit a carpenter into your group. This is done by either inviting friends or hiring a carpenter from the game, which costs 99 horseshoes!
Once you have a carpenter hired, you can progress with the mission. Activate your carpenter from the friends bar at the bottom and then grab the toolbox and clear the grass.
