Dungeon Boss is a popular new RPG combat game available on iOS. It received an Editor’s Choice designation as best new game of the week in September, 2015 and quickly became the top free download on the App Store charts. If you’ve installed it, then you already know it’s a fun and whimsical game with lots of heroes, monsters, and loot. There is a lot of strategy involved and while many different play styles can achieve success, there are basic tips and strategies that you’ll want to adhere to in order to get the most out of the game.
Here are some of our favorite tips and techniques to begin playing like a boss!
Tip 1 – Know Your Elemental Advantages
Each hero and monster in the game belongs to a certain Element, which can be either Fire, Water, Nature, Light, or Dark. Each of these Elements gives a damage bonus when attacking creatures of an opposing element.
For Fire, Water, and Nature Elements, there is also a negative bonus when attacking creatures that belong to the element that has an advantage over yours.
For example, your starting character, Rogar Stonecrusher, belongs to the Fire Element. He gets a 30% bonus when attacking Nature creatures, but suffers a -25% bonus when attacking Water creatures.
Here are all the Element pairings:
- Fire has an advantage over Nature
- Nature has an advantage over Water
- Water has an advantage over Fire
- Light has an advantage over Dark
- Dark has an advantage over Light
These advantages are especially important when fighting the Bosses, who are subject to the same rules. Use this when planning your party before you enter the dungeon. For example, if the dungeon is mostly filled with Nature creatures, it’s a good idea to make sure at least one of your heroes belongs to the Fire element. And if one of your heroes belongs to Water, he or she might want to sit this one out.
